Year three pupils had a very colourful and immersive art day. They studied the effect of using contrasting bright colours and they explored the work of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.
For extra inspiration, local artist Claire Britcliffe came in to meet and work with the children in the morning. She helped them develop the trademark look of Kusama and her glasses, to reflect scenes in the lenses like Claire’s own well known paintings.
In the afternoon, the pupils extended their artwork creating Kusama inspired bright baclgrounds and dotty pumpkins with parents, carers and family members who came into school.
It was a very creative and enjoyable day.
