We had an amazing day on Thursday celebrating World Book Day!
We kicked everything off with an assembly, then we had lots of fun trying to guess which member of staff was reading, whilst hiding behind a mask, in our ‘Masked Reader’ online quiz. We completed activities on our personal Reading Journeys and also designed our ‘Dream Library’ as part of a competition! As well as that, we had ‘Stories by the Sea’ in for a book fair which gave all the pupils a ‘book shop’ experience within the academy and allowed each of them to collect one of the World Book Day books to take home, as well as their £1 token which can be used as part payment for a book at a local bookshop. Year 3 rounded the visit off with a virtual author visit from poet, Neil Zetter: their performances at the end of the workshop were fabulous!
